I will definitely give NConf the credit it is due. Without this tool, it would take a long time to generate the needed configuration for many servers. Right now, we only monitor maybe 60 servers, in comparison to companies that monitor thousands, but even with that number, I have had to maintain our Nagios configuration all manually prior to this.
Prior to NConf, it would be a long painful process where you would either write a script in bash, perl, <insert lang here> that would parse some text file that you had setup, and create a config based on that (if you were lucky). Now, it is as simple as filling in some text boxes, checking boxes, and pressing a button.
