Service template question

Postby ralph » Tue Jan 17, 2012 13:33

Hi all,

I have a question.

I should know how can i link the template with the check_command?

I need the follow service template:

define service{
name check_nrpe
service_description check_nrpe
use generic-service
check_command check_nrpe_args
register 0
}

In the panel "Add service-template" there is no way to add a check_command.

Thanks for the help

Hi.

The quick answer is: this cannot be done yet in version 1.3.0. Checkcommands cannot currently be assigned to service-templates.
This is a feature we will implement in a later release.

There is of course a work-around: you could add the required attribute to the service-template class yourself. In a second step you would have to edit the services class and set the check_command attribute to not be mandatory. Then it should work. However, your users will then be able to add services with an empty check_command attribute. If they do that, the syntax check will fail.
