nconf url opens without user attentication

Postby bbnladmin » Sun Jan 15, 2012 17:19

Hi,
I am new to the nconf, hence please pardon me, if these are very basic questions.
I have configured nagios/nconf successfully.
But when i try to access the url http://hostname/nconf it opens up without asking for a username and password.
Due to this anybody can access this webpage, which is scary
Can you please let me know as to where i am going wrong and how i can fix this issue
thanks in advance
Arun

the authentication conf file has the following enabled for auth_enabled

<?php
##
## Authentication
##

#
# enables/disables the use of users and passwords
# if disabled (0) NConf runs without user login / without authentication
define('AUTH_ENABLED', 'admin');

Hi. Have a look at the following section of our documentation:
http://www.nconf.org/dokuwiki/doku.php? ... ation:main

AUTH_ENABLED is a generic switch to turn authentication on/off. If you set it to "1", then you must specify an authentication type. Default type is "file", which meas users will be authenticated using the accounts listed in nconf/config/.file_accounts.php

Hope this gets you started in the right direction.
