Deployment not possible

Postby ma_rvin » Fri Oct 11, 2013 10:38

Hi,

I've got some trouble with generating a valid config with NConf 1.3.0.
Generating a config now fails with the following error:

Code: Select all
Reading configuration data...
 Read main config file okay...
Processing object config file '/var/www/nconf/temp/global/timeperiods.cfg'...
Processing object config file '/var/www/nconf/temp/global/contacts.cfg'...

Processing object config file '/var/www/nconf/temp/global/checkcommands.cfg'...
Processing object config file '/var/www/nconf/temp/global/host_templates.cfg'...
Processing object config file '/var/www/nconf/temp/global/service_templates.cfg'...

Processing object config file '/var/www/nconf/temp/Watchman/advanced_services.cfg'...
Processing object config file '/var/www/nconf/temp/Watchman/servicegroups.cfg'...
Processing object config file '/var/www/nconf/temp/Watchman/services.cfg'...
Processing object config file '/var/www/nconf/temp/Watchman/hosts.cfg'...
Error: Invalid host object directive 'hostname'.
Error: Could not add object property in file '/var/www/nconf/temp/Watchman/hosts.cfg' on line 2.
Error processing object config files!

It looks to me that it should not be "hostname" but "host_name" but I have no idea where to tell NConf that. (Or why it's doing that at all)

I've tried deleting the config and restoring a backup from a time when it was working, but still no luck. To my knowledge no changes (except system updates) have been done on the system.

The parameters are:
debian wheezy
apache 2.2.22
nconf 1.3.0
icinga 1.9.3 (and also tried 1.7.1-6)
nagios 3.4.1

found the solution, but have no idea to the reason:

after comparing the not-working database with a working one i found the error

in the ConfigAttrs table has a wrong entry (don't ask me why).

Code: Select all
UPDATE `ConfigAttrs` SET `attr_name`='host_name' WHERE `friendly_name`='hostname';

did the trick and fixed it.
