Can't edit static config files

Post by bfay » Tue Oct 18, 2011 19:52

Hello,

When I clicked on "Edit static config files" I have "static_cfg" in the Directory dropdown and only "Choose a file..." in the Files dropdown. I cannot edit static config files from NConf. I am new to NConf. Did I do something wrong at installation time? Is there a way to fix it?

Thanks,
Bernard

Hi,

I don't use this feature, so I don't know if you can create a new file from NConf WebGui or if you have to copy the static config file to the static_cfg folder of your NConf installation...
Anyway make sure static_cfg folder and all files in it are writeable by your webserver user (e.g. apache).

Regards,
Rene

You can do two things:
1) copy the static files you want to edit to the nconf/static_cfg folder (or any subfolder therein)
2) configure NConf to allow you to edit files in any other folder on your system. This requires the apache user to have read/write access to that folder.
edit config/nconf.php, add any paths you want to make available to the static config editor:
$STATIC_CONFIG = array("static_cfg", "/etc/nagios/");
