Post by hekulkar » Mon Oct 26, 2009 14:01

Hi Team ,

I am geeting following error while generating config in NCONF

Nagios 3.1.2

Reading configuration data...
Read main config file okay...
Processing object config file '/var/www/html/nconf/temp/global/contacts.cfg'...
Error: Invalid contact object directive 'nc_permission'.
Error: Could not add object property in file '/var/www/html/nconf/temp/global/contacts.cfg' on line 7.
Error processing object config files!

***> The name of the main configuration file looks suspicious...

Make sure you are specifying the name of the MAIN configuration file on
the command line and not the name of another configuration file. The
main configuration file is typically '/usr/local/nagios/etc/nagios.cfg'

***> One or more problems was encountered while processing the config files...

Check your configuration file(s) to ensure that they contain valid
directives and data defintions. If you are upgrading from a previous
version of Nagios, you should be aware that some variables/definitions
may have been removed or modified in this version. Make sure to read
the HTML documentation regarding the config files, as well as the
'Whats New' section to find out what has changed.

Hi. Make sure the "write to conf" flag is set to "no" for the "nc_permission" attribute. This attribute is an NConf internal feature and is not recognized as a valid attribute by Nagios.

Make sure you are logged in with an admin user.
In the navigation go to "Administration" -> "Attributes" -> "Show" -> select class "contact" -> edit "nc_permission":
Set "write attribute to configuration" to "no".
