Generate Nagios config problem

After going through the motions in my previous posting, you would think that I should not have any further problems... :x After completing the importing of the configuration files into the database, I wanted to generate the Nagios config files from the NConf gui menu. The Nagios server and the NConf...

Re: Accessing the Nagios configuration files

Hi there -- I ran the suggested command syntax on the hostgroups.cfg file, and I was able to import it into the database. Everything appears to be in order there. The only question I have is the following: Based on the various steps that needed to be done here, would it be better to start from the b...

Re: Accessing the Nagios configuration files

Hi there -- I have posted a copy of the hostgroups.cfg file for your perusal. I am not sure what the syntax error is, so please let me know. I believe I know what caused the problem with the 10_emerson host. Going by the instructions on Nagios Import Guide page, I imported the parent hosts separatel...

Re: Accessing the Nagios configuration files

I ran the simulated imports again with the debug option set to the suggested level. The output in each case was piped to a text file, all of which I have included in this posting. If you need further information, please let me know. Thanks.

Re: Accessing the Nagios configuration files

Hi there -- I have made some progress. I took your advice on the timeperiod class within NConf, and I was able to successfully import the timeperiods.cfg file into the database. I then went to the checkcommand.cfg file, and removed a comment section that immediately preceded the first command defini...

Re: Accessing the Nagios configuration files

Hi there -- Thanks for your reply. I am going through the motions of trying to import the configuration files into the database, but I am running into difficulties. According to the documentation, the first file that should be imported into the database is the timeperiods.cfg file. To that end, I en...

Accessing the Nagios configuration files

Hi there -- I completed the installation of the Nconf 1.2.6 onto our system, and I have been able to access it. The Nagios server is version 3.3.1, and it is running on an Ubuntu 10.04 LTS 32-bit system. The location of the Nagios base directory is the /usr/local/nagios folder. When I go through the...
