Hi,

Can you post a screenshot on what you set in new class and attributes?

Re: auth type sql user read only

Hi,

Did you set NConf permissions to "admin" instead of "user"?

Re: Configuration Deployment local

Hi,

NConf is running as Apache-User (apache/www-data/...)
You can do the following:
Add apache user to group icinga
make icinga-config writeable for group icinga

Re: INSTALL.php fails -Check if config files are present

Hi,

Do you have a security mechanism like SELinux or AppArmor activated?
Is there anything in Apache error_log?

Re: Configuration Deployment local

Hi,

Does you wwwrun-user have write permissions to /usr/local/icinga/etc/objects and /usr/local/icinga/etc/objects/Default_collector?

Re: misccommand field size problem

Hi,

I fear that some code of NConf (and maybe database definitions) have to be changed as the atrributes page says that the max. value is 1024.

Re: Hosts sometimes shows all entries sometimes not

Hi,

Can you run nagios -v nagios.cfg and have a look if Nagios has all hosts?

Re: Multiple Inheritance Sources

Hi, The best way would be to not use templates for distributed setups. If you don't have a Nagios server which is both monitor and collector, you don't need templates as you can disable/enable notifications, active, passive checks,... in nagios.cfg which makes the config a lot easier... Re: Host can be a parent to only one child

Hi,

There's no such limitation in NConf.
I have parents with multiple childs (switches, firewalls, virtualization hypervisors) and also hosts with multiple parents...

Re: Monitor host from multiple Collectors

Hi,

Can you explain why you would like to do this?
For me this doesn't really make sense.

If you would like to setup a ha monitoring setup with high available collectors you could have a look at e.g. mod_gearman: https://labs.consol.de/nagios/mod-gearman/

Re: Ghost Entries

Hi,

stupid question, but are you sure that Nagios is loading/checking the correct files?
If NConf doesn't report any issues, but Nagios does, maybe you have included some old files in nagios.cfg.

Re: What happens with downed central monitor

Exactly, I have a seperate Nagios server for monitoring these critical systems (too).
I don't have this server in NConf, as it only monitors 3 systems, but if I would put it in NConf, it would be a second monitor...

René
